This is an example of what Career Day looks like:
The keynote speaker was my former student, Jean Alerte, CEO of Alerte, Carter & Associates.
One workshop was a panel discussion where professionals spoke with students about topics such as how to get a job, how to excel in a job, and how to choose a career.
Workshops were held in the boys' gym, girls' gym, and cafeteria that were run like speed dating sessions. Students sat down with professionals from a variety of industries for 15 minutes, and at the sound of a bell, they got up and rotated to the next table to meet with the next professional and so on. This enabled our students to be exposed to a multitude of careers.
